Physical Therapy Clinic

Wellbeing is at the core of our ethos at Breathing Place Physical Therapy.

What is Physical Therapy?

A Physical Therapist is a health care professional who takes a holistic approach to improve your health and wellbeing. Physical Therapy is based on health science principles and Physical Therapists use their hands to diagnose and manage movement dysfunction and restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function and wellness.

Our patient-centered approach to therapy uses manual techniques of the soft tissue and joints. Physical Therapy treats a variety of musculoskeletal symptoms:

  • Lower back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Whiplash
  • Knee Pain
  • Migrane
  • Hip Pain

What is a Physical Therapy Consultation?

A Physical Therapy initial consultation will begin taking an in-depth medical history, followed by a musculoskeletal assessment. Following this the Physical Therapist will explain what could be causing your pain and will seek your consent to continue with treatment. Tailored highly skilled hands-on techniques will be applied to restore maximum functional ability. The number of visits is variable depending on the severity of impairment. As standard we provide our clients with home care exercises (Rehab) and recommendations to maintain good musculoskeletal health.

What should I wear to a Physical Therapy?

For men, wear a pair of shorts and for women wear shorts, a vest or a sports bra for your comfort. If you have any apprehension, discuss your concerns with your therapist.

What qualifications does my Physical Therapist hold?

At Breathing Place Physical Therapy, all our Physical Therapists are fully qualified and registered with the Irish Association of Physical Therapists (IAPT).
