Somatic Movement Education is a gentle, safe and highly effective way to end chronic pain, improve mobility and stability and relieve day-to-day stress. With Somatics, we always work holistically, using processes that re-educate the nervous system and help to restore functional movement. Through awareness and movement, you learn to sense, recognise and release habitual muscular tension and unwind their holding patterns in your body. As the muscles relax and lengthen, your mobility and strength increases, so you can enjoy normal activities in life with more pleasure and ease. This Somatic practice can help to soothe tight muscles, relieve stress and improve body-mind awareness.

This two hour workshop is led by Deirdre Mullins Somatic Exercise Coach, Clinical Somatic Educator and experienced Yoga teacher. She is passionate about sharing Somatic embodied practices which improve mobility, stability and function while also helping to relieve stress so we can all experience life more fully.
Perfect for yoga beginners or those working with an injury and looking for a therapeutic workshop. Somatic Movement helps to soothe tight muscles, relieve stress and improve body-mind awareness. No previous experience of yoga or somatics is requirement. All are welcome.
2-Hour Hips, Core and Pelvic Floor - A Somatic Exploration Workshop: 10.30am, Sunday 14th April 2019
Have you ever thought “if only I was stronger in my core I…” or you heard the words “engage your pelvic floor” or “use your core” but don't really know what that means?
Whether you’re looking to boost your core strength, improve posture or better understand the Hips, Core and Pelvic Floor connection this Somatic workshop is for you. Through gentle Somatic Movement and Feldenkrais sequences you will explore practical and therapeutic ways to develop better control and more functional strength without overworking muscles. Both men and women can learn how to contract and relax the pelvic floor and core muscles helping to understand, how when balanced they form the base, support and strength for your spine, torso and all your organs. In addition, with this increased awareness and sensation you can address incontinence, alleviate pain (especially in the back, pelvis and hips), assist childbirth and facilitate ease in many functional activities like lifting heavy objects so you feel more comfort in all kinds of day-to-day and athletic movements!
The workshop is lead by Deirdre Mullins, our fully qualified Somatic Exercise Coach, Clinical Somatic Educator and Yoga teacher, who since 2013 has been passionately exploring Somatic movement, leading Somatic workshops and working with clients through Somatic Movement and Yoga.
You will leave this 2-hour workshop with less pain and tension, feeling balanced in your body and mind.

2 Hour Blindfold Yoga Workshop: 10.30am, Saturday 30th March 2019
Inspired by Pratyahara (the yoga principle of “the withdrawal of senses”), this workshop invites you to awaken your inner eye and turn inward. With a blindfold, you will take a journey from outside perception to inner self.
Join Ger Kinane for this two-hour deeply relaxing yoga journey as you explore the practice with your eyes closed. Feel your balance being challenged as you remove visual references. Experience the mind body connection intensify as you the rest of your senses become deepened and refined. With outward distractions removed, feel a stronger connection to breath. You will notice that the need for focus and presence is much greater than usual as you move mindfully and find stillness.
A very slow and accessible sequence of poses that will leave you feeling relaxed, restored, with a higher appreciation for your ability to see, both inside and out.
4 Week Beginner's Hatha Yoga Course: 09.30am, Friday 22nd March 2019
Beginners Level Hatha yoga class, suitable for beginners to yoga or coming back to yoga after a break. In this Hatha Yoga course you will learn the basics of hatha yoga asana (postures), breathing techniques and how to relax and restore from the challenges of daily life.
First-time students are welcome in this traditional hatha yoga class. A slower paced class, Hatha yoga incorporates breathing exercises and meditation to call the mind and focuses on proper alignment and form to support your body. Students will experience a comprehensive, yoga balanced class with expert guided instruction throughout the class.
You will leave this Hatha Yoga class feeling more relaxed and balanced.
